Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.03 billion in local sales tax allocations for April, up 5.5 percent compared to April 2023.
Total net payments this period were$646,954,637,compared to 2023 at $615,022,866, a 5.19 percent change.
Locally, Castro County received $20,692 compared to last year, a 13.86 percent change.
The city of Dimmitt received $34,464, a 4.19 percent increase above the $33,076 figure from last year.
Hart also saw an increase of 19.71 percent, receiving $4,490 compared to 2023 at
$3,750.
Nazareth had a -14.97 percent decrease, receiving
$4,522 compared to last year at $5,318.
Statewide, counties received $63.6 million, an increase of 4.0 percent; cities,
$647.0 million, a 5.2 percent increase; and special purpose districts, $100.2 million, a 10.7 increase.
These allocations are based on sales made in February by businesses that report tax monthly.
