Proctor & Gamble Company has issued a voluntary recall of multiple kinds of laundry detergent products including Tide Pods and Gain Flings.

According to the recall, about 8.2 million bags of Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods and Ariel Pods liquid laundry detergent packets packaged in flexible film bags sold in the United States are included in the recall, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The lot codes were for products manufactured between September 2023 and February 2024.

The recall states that the outer packaging meant to prevent access to the contents can split open near the zipper track, posing a risk of serious injury to children and other vulnerable populations if the contents of the laundry detergent packets are ingested.

It also poses a risk of skin or eye injuries.

Consumers are urged to check to see if their bag is part of the recall by checking the lot code.

Anyone with a bag affected by the recall can contact Procter & Gamble for a full refund and a free replacement childresistant bag to store the product.

There have been no confirmed injuries directly relating to this packaging defect.
