Linda Sue McElroy, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home in San Miguel, California, on Dec. 21, 2023.

Linda was born in Dimmitt, Texas on May 22, 1944, to William R. and Ilene McElroy.Linda raised her family and worked for many years in Dimmitt. She moved to Ventura, California in 1984. She also lived in Moreno Valley, California, Hereford, Texas, and fi-nally retired in San Miguel. Her joys in life were her family, her many pets, gardening, music, wine tasting, and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Charlotte; her husband, Raymond Merrill; and her great-grandson, William Murray.

She is survived by her son, Victor McRee and Lori Najar from Amarillo, Texas; her daughter, Carla West and Bill West from San Miguel; and her daughter, Daun Muir and Bruce Muir from Santa Clarita, California. Her surviving grandchildren are Melissa and Robert Strite of Amarillo, Mike West of Moorpark, California, Jami West and Brennan Strong of Redmond, Oregon, Joseph and Danielle Murray of Hereford, Jacob and Sarah Murray of Ventura, Amanda Hampsher-Monk, Kelsey Butler, and Matt Muir, all of Santa Clarita. Her surviving great-grandchildren include Justin, Izahaih, and Ryan Strite of Amarillo, Aiden, Linkin, Pierce, and Jhett Murray of Hereford, Emerson Murray of Ventura, Seth and Kaia Hampsher-Monk, Harvery Butler, and Charlotte Muir, all of Santa Clarita. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Margaret Marsh.
