W.E. “Gene” Heath, 92 of Big Spring, Texas, formerly of Brownfield and Sweetwater, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2019 at Scenic Mountain Hospital in Big Spring. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Nov. 5, 2019 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Lawayne Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Terry County Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. The family will have a visitation before the service on Tuesday at noon till service time at the Brownfield Funeral Home.
Gene was born March 18, 1927 in Yoakum County, Texas to the late Soloman Levi and Lucy (Adam) Heath. He married Loudeen Armstrong on Feb. 7, 1953 in Brownfield, Texas who passed away on Dec. 18, 1975. He married Charlene Cox on Jan. 20, 1984 in Brownfield. Gene had farmed most of his life and was a deacon of the Church of the Living God.
Surviving Gene is daughter, Rhonda Kates and husband Brian of Big Spring; son, Russell Heath of West Virginia; wife Charlene Heath of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Perry Pierce and husband William of Florida and Ryan Mixson and wife Jennifer of Georgetown, Texas; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loudeen; and three brothers and a sister.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Mixson, Luke Meyers, Seth Meyers, Marshall Howard, John Shafer and Anthony Neighbors.
