Cora Faye Mohan, 81 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Dimmitt. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Pastor Jonathan Sullivan officiating.

Cora Faye Mohon was born on August 20, 1937 in Claude, Texas to ClellBonifield and Bertha Faye (Head) Bonifield. Faye grew up in Claude, Texas and graduated from Claude High School and then went on and received her degree in teaching from North Texas University. On June 9, 1961 she married Wayne Mohon and they moved to the Dimmitt community in 1971. She taught high school English at Silverton High School and later taught at Richardson Elementary School in Dimmitt. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt and served on several committees. She enjoyed working with crafts, making candy, working with flowers in her garden, volunteering with “Helping Hands” and travelling the country and working with Blackaby Ministries.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Wayne Mohon of Dimmitt; two daughters, Beth Raper and husband Joe of Borger, and Deborah Huseman of Panhandle; one son, David Mohon and wife Angie of Levelland; sister, Clella Atkins of Houston; seven grandchildren, Andrew Raper of Amarillo, Kaile Monroe and husband Tyler of Wolfforth, BrionRaper of Taos, New Mexico, Jill Huseman of Las Animas,Colorado, Mitchell Stevens and wife Chelsea of Amarillo, Ashley Mills and husband Michael of Lubbock, and Casey McCorkle and husband Austin of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren, Jax Monroe, Keighton Mills, Carson Stevens and Hudson Stevens, and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
