nThe City of Hereford and Hereford Independent School District (HISD) encourage voters to go to the polls starting Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.Saturday, residents may vote at either the Hereford Civic Center or the Deaf Smith County Courthouse.
HE'D MAKE A GOOD ONE--At the April 20 City Commission meeting, Interim Municipal Court Judge Cindy Simons presented Kirk Spain as a potential Municipal Court Judge candidate, explaining that he had previously worked in Adult Probation for 21 years, also served as a patrol officer with the Hereford Police department for over five years, and served as a volunteer firefighter for 16 years. VET SCIENCE COMPETITORS— The Hereford FFA Veterinary Science CDE team competed at the Area 1 Contest recently. They placed 13th among 48 teams in the Area and were third in Littlefield District in a highly competitive contest. Team members are Nubia Soltero, Adali Arias, Emma Arredondo and Stella Hewitt.

April 10 was a fantastic day for the Mighty Maroon Band. The Honors Band and Symphonic Band each earned a Sweepstakes trophy for Superior ratings at the UIL Evaluation which was held at West Plains High School. The Concert Band earned Excellent ratings in Concert and Sightreading.
