Samaritan Hospice Dessert Auction raises $25,154

The bids were sweet and the 15th annual Samaritan Hospice Dessert Auction November 25 garnered $25,154 for the Children’s Funeral and Hospice Patient Assistance Programs at Samaritan Hospice With 175 supporters in attendance the Live Auction took in $18,599, and the Silent Auction yielded $2,195.
NATIONAL 4-H CONGRESS DELEGATE--State Delegate Johan Grotegut represented Deaf Smith County at the National 4-H Congress event in Atlanta, Georgia. Johan was selected through rigorous interviews prior to his participation in the five-day event.

When did you attend Amarillo College?I began attending Amarillo College in August 2017 and the first in my family to pursue a college education.What degree did you earn?I earned my General Studies degree in December 2020 and then transferred to Frank Phillips College, where I obtained my LVN.

Thanks to wonderful rains from spring into summer, there were far more pheasants to be seen locally this summer and fall, particularly at hangouts around feedyards and around cover bordering good feed.

The 28th annual Pheasant Hunters and Community Breakfast is today, December 6 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Methodist Church at 501 North Main. The hall is across the alley on the west side of the church building.

Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Dept. November 20 Salvador Zamora was arrested for assault against elderly or disabled individual. November 21 Ray Zepeda, Jr. was arrested for assault of a pregnant person.Diana Tresa Silva-Vasquez was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 oz.
