Hereford graduates among those featured in WT choir performance

Works including classical favorites, American pop songs and international folk tunes are on the program for the West Texas A&M University fall choir concert.The concert, which will feature three ensembles, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall. Admission is free.

Consistent summer rains spur this year’s pumpkin harvest

Texas pumpkin producers are experiencing a strong harvest thanks to consistent rainfall and a dry July. While quantity is on par with last season’s harvest, producers say overall pumpkin quality is better compared to last year, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts.
PAINTING ONE DAY--During the Happy One Day 4-H observance on Saturday, October 11, Deaf Smith County 4-Hers worked to make the best better by putting a new coat of paint on the Welcome to Hereford sign on the north side of Hereford. Laying on new paint are 4-Hers Johan and Josef Grotegut, Macy Betzen and Sam Detten. Civic club signs were removed while the painting was in progress and will be put back in place once the project is completed.
