Hereford High School’s cross country athletes had a great weekend of competition at the Clovis meet. The varsity girls placed fourth as a team while the varsity boys came in third place. Top individuals included Mark Reyes - 3rd Place and Gabby Gonzalez - 9th Place Individual. This morning the teams hosted the Hereford Cross Country meet.

Lady Whiteface Teagan Thomas earned her 500th volleyball kill last weekend in the Farmersville Tournament. On Thursday, Aug. 20 the Lady Whitefaces topped Pleasant Grove, Gunter and Central Heights. Friday, Aug. 21 the Lady Herd beat Canton and Clyde but lost to Springtown. Their impressive first two days in the tournament placed them in the Gold Bracket for Saturday where they lost to Van Alstyne and Springtown. This week Hereford traveled to Midland Lee and then play in the Frenship Tournament Aug. 28-29.

The Herd earned its first district tennis win Saturday by defeating the Dumas Demons 18-1, The team showed up early with one goal in mind: get a dominant win against Dumas. Coaches praised Natalie Hernandez for clinching the 10th win with her strong 6-4, 6-2 victory in singles, and to all of tennis athletes outside of the counting lineup who went out and won every single match.

The Hereford Lady Whitefaces picked up a win over Lubbock Christian, taking the match in four sets.Hereford opened the match strong, winning the first two sets 25-14 and 25-19.

Emma Council clinched the 10th win against Lubbock Coronado this morning as The Herd finished with a dominant 18-1 victory. Nataly Cervantes won in both singles and doubles this afternoon, securing the 10th win and helping The Herd finish with an 11-8 win over Lubbock Monterey. Also pictured is team member Macy Betzen.
