Avian influenza waterfowl deaths noted in Panhandle, on South Plains

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza continues to be indicated in waterfowl in the Texas Panhandle and South Plains, particularly on municipal water bodies.The City of Hereford issued an advisory to residents on December 9 after sick and dying birds were noted at the Hereford Aquatic Park Pond.

La Madre Mia Study Club met at the Hereford Country Club for their annual Valentine’s Party, with the Social Committee co-hosting (Cathy Bunch, Kathie Kerr, Lauri Paetzold, Kristen Hicks, Jan Reeve, Glenda Marcum and Junie Wagner) for the February 12 meeting.
Saturday, Joseph Rodriguez took the stage with the Small School TMEA All-State Choir. In January Rodriguez auditioned for the All-State Choir and qualified as sixth chair.
