Chamber of Commerce holds annual banquet

A packed house enjoyed the annual Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday, Jan. 31 at Hilltop Event Center.A ribeye steak dinner was provided to attendees with entertainment by J’s Dueling Pianos. It was the second time the dueling pianos group performed at the banquet.

Deaf Smith County’s Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet Saturday night at Hilltop Event Center. Top honorees included B.J. Gililland (Citizen of the Year), Brenda Fuentes (Hall of Fame) and Vanessa Nava (Employee of the Year).

May school, city elections open for filing

It’s something less than a stampede of filings so far in the City Officers Election upcoming May 2.Incumbent Place 6 at-large Commissioner Deven Black is the only candidate to have filed as of January 28, according to City Secretary Franchesca Jimenez.
