AWAITING IMMUNITY--Cackling and Canada geese flush from the Hereford Aquatic Park Pond, the site of goose mortalities in December from Avian Influenza. Goose mortalities have also occurred in Amarillo and Lubbock. As geese stay exposed over a longer time period, immunity is apparently building in the population and fewer mortalities are expected as spring migration builds. (Photo by Jim Steiert)
