Hunting pressure on sandhill cranes bears watchfulness

Years ago, very few people hunted sandhill cranes in the Panhandle and South Plains. That has changed dramatically in the last 10-15 years as the sportiness of hunting them over decoys and their culinary quality has been recognized.

West Plains tops Herd in season finale

The Hereford Whitefaces finished up district play by welcoming the West Plains Wolves to Whiteface Field last Friday night. West Plains is the #2-ranked team in the state in 4A, and they finished district play undefeated by topping Hereford 45-7.

Eagles prevail 41-0 over Whitefaces

The Hereford Whitefaces traveled to Canyon last Friday night to square off against the Canyon Eagles in a District 2-4A Division 1 football game. The Whitefaces and Eagles both entered the game at 1-2 in district play and were looking to clinch the final playoff spot out of the district.
