As our community considers the upcoming school bond, I want to clarify several key points regarding the facilities committee’s recommendations and the financial structure of the proposal. Our goal has always been to find the most responsible, longterm solution for our students and taxpayers.

It is city election time again. Hereford’s municipal elections are held annually on the first Saturday in May, and this year Election Day will take place May 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

AgTexas Farm Credit held its 11th annual AgYouth Scholarship Banquet for the Amarillo area at The Barn at The Lumberyard in Canyon on Tuesday, April 14, and the Hereford area was very well represented.

“Save the Soil and Save Texas.” That was the mantra stamped on medals and trophies awarded students in the soil conservation essay contest sponsored annually by the old Fort Worth Press and state soil and water conservation districts during the 1950s and 1960s across Texas.

Law Enforcement students win two state championships

Hereford High School Law Enforcement students captured two state championships and had other podium finishes at the Skills USA State Contest in Corpus Christi April 8-11, accompanied by instructor Rebecca Artho.

HEREFORD AREA TRACK RESULTS

Hereford competed at Lubbock Cooper all day Thursday in the Area Track Meet. The top 4 in each event advanced to the Regional meet in two weeks May 1-2 at Plains Capital Field in Lubbock. All four competitors advanced!!Team results 8th out of 14 teams that scored with 32 points.

Central Church of Christ

The Central Church of Christ meets every Sunday at 148 Sunset, the corner of Sunset & Plains, in Hereford. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m.; Morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m.; and the Sunday evening worship begins at 6:00 p.m. We also meet every Wednesday at 7 p.m.
