All the best of the wurst is upcoming for Texas Master Naturalists and playa enthusiasts Saturday, July 9 as a playa training and tour will kick of the 50th observance of the Nazareth German Festival.
A veteran team of Master Naturalists will offer a playa training for Master Naturalist trainees and certified members starting at 8 a.m. at the Home Mercantile building at the corner of Second and Leo Streets in downtown Nazareth.
Introductory material on the history of playas, their vital importance to flora and fauna of the region, and their essential role in recharging the Ogallala aquifer will be delivered by Hereford playa author, Master Naturalist, and outdoor and agriculture writer Jim Steiert.
