Dimmitt Middle School robotics students participated in the Robotics Meet in Amarillo on April 13. Members of the robotics teams include Cyson Carrasco, Jayson Casas, Aaron Godinez, Micah Thomas, David Oltivero, Max Gomez, Gerardo Sanchez, Gunner Scarborough, Jocelyn Alonzo, Jaycee Cantrell, Maria Chanax, Yereli Ramirez, Jose Lopez, Jesus Ortiz, Martin Duenas, Emerson Cruz, Sawyer Lunsford, Layne Hernandez, Arturo Mejia, Rydyr Sanders, Roy Anes, Kaiden Phan, Maria Medina, Kaysha Jamies and Maricela. Instructors are Gene Penney and Norma Hoelting. The Castro County 4-H robotics junior high team competed in a division of 43 teams and ended in the top 10 at the Texas Tech GEAR Robotics Amarillo League contest. Dimmitt Middle School Robotics Team 6 placed first at the Robotics Meet in Amarillo on April 13. Team members include Roy Anes, Rydyr Sanders and Kaiden Phan. The Castro County 4-H robotics elementary team (3rd – 5th grade) place second and received the Best Statue Award at the Texas Tech GEAR Amarillo League contest.
