‘See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.’ Exodus 23:20 Ann was a talented organist. When she sat down at the keyboard people were mesmerized by her playing. She was the beloved organist who led the worship in her church. Ann was stable in her faith yet unfamiliar with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then it happened. God, in his sovereignty, touched a meeting where Ann was leading worship.
Folks became whelmed by the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other tongues, as we see happening in the book of Acts. Ann was elated by her experience and wanted everybody in the church to know the same touch from God. Sadly, however, some folks in her church felt otherwise and rejected the move of the Holy Spirit. Ann and her husband were asked to leave the church.
Ann believed God had a plan for her to help usher in a great move of his Spirit in her church and community. Yet now she was spiritually homeless. How could she ever be used of God to draw his people into a deeper walk with their Father? But God had a plan for Ann and her husband. He prepared a place for them. They attended Bible college and then settle in a new church.
