June is upon us, featuring the official arrival of summer and the beginning of the annual Summer Reading Program for youngsters here at Rhoads Memorial Library. The theme of "Oceans of Possibilities," which alludes to the multitude of topics that reading provides, is illustrated via our Display of the Month exhibit.
Hand-crafted (thank you, Sulema and Patty!) underwater dwellers ranging from a coral reef to sea urchins to a shark! can be found in our display case, along with a treasure chest of books. Signup for the Summer Reading Program, which is open to youngsters through age 17, continues.
Here's a reminder that Terrific Tuesdays will begin on June 14, in our meeting room, featuring a come-and-go session from 2-4 p.m. Led by Felice Acker, local agent with Texas AgriLife Extension Service, youngsters may arrive at their convenience within that time frame and create a make-and-take kit.
