Castro County Sheriff Sal Rivera and Patrol Sgt. Samuel Cavazos recently attended the Sheriffs Association of Texas 144th Training Conference at the Ft. Worth Convention Center in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 23 through July 26.
There were more than 180 Texas sheriffs in attendance, along with deputies, police officers, state law enforcement officers and vendors. The vendors at the Expo displayed the latest products, technology and vehicles which are offered to the Law Enforcement and Corrections community.
Sheriff Rivera was selected and appointed to the Sheriffs Association of Texas Board as one of the directors, along with four other sheriffs from other parts of the state by incoming SAT President Sheriff Buddy Mills of Gillespie County, for 2022-2023.
