Nazareth students Chole Birkenfeld, Bliss Betzen, and Kelsie Gunter competed at the 2022 State UIL Meet in journalism. The team won state and Gunter was honored with the Tops of Texas award, best of 1A through 6A champions.
Nazareth journalism students scored state medals last week in 2022 State UIL Academic Meet in Austin.
Senior Bliss Betzen, sophomore Chloe Birkenfeld, and freshmen Gracie Raef and Kelsie Gunter, competed in news writing, feature writing, news writing, copy editing, literary criticism and headlines.
The students did exceptionally well in each of the eight contests.
