Nazareth students, teachers and community members met on the front lawn at Nazareth ISD this past Wednesday for the opening ceremony of the school year. Junior- class FFA officers Chloe Birkenfeld, Tanner Wethington, Jack Welps and Jett Ramaekers raised the American and Texas flags; the fifth-grade class led the Pledge of Allegiance; and Brooklyn Birkenfeld sang the national anthem. Principal Robert O’Connor in his comments, noted this year’s senior prank, which was a shopping cart on top of the flagpole.
