There are several verses in the Bible about lightning, and I know two ministers who personally attest that they have had visions, in which they saw lightning coming from the Master Jesus's fingers, going to different parts of the world. HALLELUJAH!
Lightning is a powerful thing, but how much more the lightning of the Word of our God, Who is the living and only God--the LORD of Heaven and earth!
These verses are all from the Amplified Classic Bible:
After it His voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, and He restrains not [His lightnings against His adversaries] when His voice is heard.--Job 37:4
King David cried to the LORD: Cast forth lightning and scatter [my enemies]; send out Your arrows and embarrass and frustrate them.--Psam 144:6
Ask of the Lord rain in the time of the latter or spring rain. It is the Lord Who makes lightnings which usher in the rain and give men showers, and grass to everyone in the field.--Zech 10:1
Jesus Christ is returning very soon! Hallelujah! He will come like the lightning!
For like the lightning, that flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will the Son of Man be in His [own] day. Matthew 24:27 and Luke 17:24
The last book in the Bible, Revelation, is good news for true Believers in Christ! There are several verses in this book that tell us that lightnings are around and coming from the Throne of God:
Out from the throne came flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder, and in front of the throne seven blazing torches burned, which are the seven Spirits of God [the sevenfold Holy Spirit]; Revelation 4:5
When I was attacked in my body by the enemy years ago, I felt so bad I stayed home from church--a rare thing for me! As I praised and thanked Him for my healing, He gave me a song, "Your Word is Lightning." I have sung it to myself or out loud to myself, many times.
To me, the Word of God is just that--a sublime thrill that goes through my being as I read and hear it. Hallelujah!
Here are the words:
Your Word is lightnin' to my spirit/ Your Word is lightnin' to my soul;/ And I thrill each time I hear it/ for greater freedom is Your goal! (Repeat, then get faster and louder as you sing, "Your worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy goal! Your worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy goal! Your worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy goal!"
The living, all-powerful, unfailing, unchanging, Word of Truth, the Holy Bible, is so much more than just a thrill, of course! It's a living substance; it is life (John 1:1-5; John 6:63; John 10:10)!
1 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2 He was present originally with God. 3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. 4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. 5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].--John 1:1-5, AMPC
63 It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Lifegiver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.--John 6:63, AMPC
May this work remind you that, when you see or think of lightning from now on, the Word of God is going swiftly throughout the earth, so all may hear of the return of our glorious, victorious King, the LORD Jesus Christ!
