This is Your Hour

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in your book, they all were written, the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them. Psalm 139:16 I heard a good sermon about redeeming our time last Sunday. The message was based on Ephesians 5 verse 16, which tells us to redeem the time because the days are evil. The verse is followed by the words, “do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

God-tracking is all about following and remaining in the will of God. Therefore, we need to make the most of our time with godly wisdom because every minute counts in sharing God’s love and his goodness in a wild and perverse generation.

I often look back and wonder what it must have been like to live at various times in history. When was the best time to live – during the days of Jesus, during medieval times, before the First World War or immediately after the Second World War? But then I remember what the scripture says about my times: he knows my sitting down and my rising up; he is acquainted with all my ways; he covered me in my mother’s womb and in his book were written all the days fashioned for me before one of them came to be.
