Chief Deputy Brent Harrison was awarded the Star of Texas by Governor Greg Abbott on Sept. 11 at the Shoreline Baptist Church in Round Rock. There were 44 recipients from throughout the State of Texas that received the award. Chief Deputy Harrison was awarded the Star of Texas for the incident where Chief Deputy Harrison was shot and wounded by a suspect in the northwest part of Castro County on May 8, 2026.
