An emaciated, abandoned dog left to starve was found on CR 516 by the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies gave the dog water and food, but while gone to get a dog trap, the animal disappeared.
The Castro County Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens not to abandon pets, such as cats or dogs in the rural areas of the county.
According to Sheriff Sal
Rivera, his office has gotten complaints throughout the county of stray dogs attacking livestock and killing chickens. In the majority of incidents, the stray dog or dogs are abandoned and are trying to find something to eat.
