Sheriff presents report to commissioners

Castro County Sheriff Sal Rivera gave his June Sheriff’s Office report to the commissioners court this past week, updating them on calls, the jail, communications, and racial profiling data.

Rivera said the Communications Division which handles all countywide 9-1-1 calls received a total of 189 calls in June: Sheriff’s Office , 69; Dimmitt Police Department, 70; Dimmitt Animal Control, four; Texas DPS, six; fire departments, two; EMS, 32; miscellaneous, six; and DISD PD, zero.

The Sheriff’s Office deputy’s activity report had 69 calls, 37 citations, 48 warnings, five arrests from traffic, six criminal citations, six arrests, three warrants, 21 reports and nine civil.
