The Dimmitt ISD board of trustees on Nov. 17, approved both the election results and a resolution setting the tax rate for the district following the failed Voter Approval Tax Rate Election.
Superintendent Jill Millican, Mike Huseman, DISD Director of Finance & Budget and the board of trustees sought to get approval for an adopted rate of $1.1846 in the Nov. 8 election which was above the voter approval tax rate of $1.3096, requiring a tax election.
Voters said no to the suggested tax rate requiring the board to adopt a different tax rate which is .8546 for M&O and .335 for I&S, for a combined total rate of 1.1896 for the fiscal 2022-23 year.
