The Swifts kicked off their season participating in the Ira Tournament, losing two games and winning two. Swift v Hermleigh The Swifts defeated Hermleigh 13-2 on Thursday thanks to seven runs in the first inning.

Bobbies bring home state win

Dimmitt Bobbies lifter Allyson Jones represented DHS in top form this past weekend, claiming the THSWPA state championship gold medal, the first ever for DHS powerlifting. Ni’Khiyah Porras snagged a fourth-place state medal. Jones competed in the SHW weight class, lifting a total of 1,015 pounds.

The Dimmitt Bobcats lost the Regionals quarterfinal round to the Shallowater Mustangs, 50-41, ending their playoff run. Shallowater gained a first quarter lead, 16-9, and in the second quarter, the Bobcats battled, but ended the first half trailing the Mustangs 25-22.
