Swisher County Title Company was honored with a meet and greet and ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 29th. Along with the ribbon cutting, Tulia Chamber of Commerce presented Swisher County Title Company with the traditional first dollar in business in Tulia.

Robert Chadwich, Swisher County Archives and Museum Curator presented a donation to Janet Reyes at Swisher County Senior Citizens for their Home Delivered Meals program. The donation was made possible by the annual Swisher County Museum Christmas Silent Auction.

Benson Van Winkle of Happy earned Reserve Grand Champion Heifer and Reserve Senior Champion Heifer with JCBB JARR Mary’s Proud 403M in the Simmental division at the 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) on January 24.
Texas Plains Federal is proud to give our members an opportunity to give back to the community. When you swipe your Community Debit Card on a signature (credit) transaction, we’ll donate a percentage to a charitable organization at no cost to you! Proceeds from the Community Debit were presented to the Youth Athletics Program of Tulia. Krystal Macias accepted the donation from Kawliga Height and April Garza.

Deadly Fire in Tulia

On Saturday Jan 24, 2026, at approximately 8:50 pm Tulia Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a structure fire in the 200 block of NW 4th street. Tulia VFD was on scene within minutes of the call. However, the house was already engulfed in flames.
