The Pink Ladies will be hosting a Make-A-Wish-Benefit on Dec. 5 on behalf of the North Texas Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The event will be held at Dimmitt Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chili, hot dogs, Frito pies and all the fixins’ will be served for $10 per person. To go orders will be available (647-4502).
The Pink Ladies will also be selling raffle tickets for a gift card. Tickets are available the day of the event or beforehand at the Dimmitt Country Club.
The Pink Ladies have their eye set on attending the North Texas Make-A-Wish Foundation Chili Cookoff in January where a Humanitarian Award will be presented to the group raising the most money for the North Texas region.
The North Texas region includes 161 counties and strives to grant the wish of every eligible child.
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of transformative wish experiences worldwide. The organization's vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. Wishes are not reserved for children with terminal illnesses.
According to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, medical research reveals wishes provide physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. Wishes are catalysts for hope - profoundly effective in fueling a child's drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow.
