Bobbies battle Muleshoe

The Dimmitt Bobbies (0-1) fell to the Muleshoe Lady Mules, 3-0, in the first district game.

Coach Vicky Ruiz said, “This had been the best game that Dimmitt had played. All players were talking, encouraging each other and playing to their best ability. I am very proud of them.”

The first inning saw no runs from either team. The Lady Mules came in with a single run in the second run to take the lead, and again in the fourth and fifth innings, to claim the win.

Alondro Velo was named player of the game with a diving catch at second base to end the inning and was able to get a hit for a single.

Bobbies pitcher JC Sepeda had two strikeouts, one walk, gave up four hits, with a total of 29 balls and 55 strikes.

Bobbies batting stats:

Nina Vasquez had one single; Maraya Corrales, one single; Mariah Marmolejo, two singles; and Alondra Velo, one single.

Bobbies fielding:

Jazlyn Rodriguez had two putouts and one assist; Nina Vasquez, three putouts and one assist; JC Sepeda, one putout and seven assists; Maraya Corrales, eight putouts; Caitlyn Olmos, one assist; Alondra Velo, three putouts and one assist; and Ashleigh Broom, one putout.

The team had a total of five errors.
