Here at Rhoads Memorial Library, we still have a few 'Paper Helicopters' take-andmake kits for Young Scientists. The fun, educational kits are created by Felice Acker, local agent with Texas A&M Extension Service, and we gladly distribute them.

New books that have arrived and are ready for checkout include: -'Going Rogue: Rise and Shine Twenty-Nine' (a Stephanie Plum mystery) by Janet Evanovich; -'Wyoming Homecoming' (a Wyoming Men novel) by Diana Palmer; -'Gilded Mountain,' a novel by Kate Manning, which is set in early 1900's Colorado. Sylvie Pelletier recounts leaving her family's snowbound mountain cabin to work in a manor house for the Padgetts, owners of the marble-mining company that employs her father and dominates the town.

According to the book's blurb, 'Gilded Mountain' is 'drawn from true stories of Colorado history, a tale of a bygone American West seized by robber barons and settled by immigrants. The story is infused with longing: for self-expression and equality, freedom and adventure.'

-'Find Him', a novel by Jake Hinkson, follows 18-yearold Lily and her estranged uncle as they join forces to track down her missing fiance, Peter. Lily has always been considered to be the perfect daughter of a Pentecostal preacher, at least until she announces she is pregnant with the baby of church member Peter.

When Peter disappears before the couple can marry, everyone, including his own mother, thinks the young man simply ran off. But Lily refuses to believe it and she and her uncle leave the safe, insular world of her church to explore the darkest corners of the criminal underworld on the Arkansas/Tennessee border. Neither can foresee the unsettling secrets they well uncover.

-'Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics' by Dolly Parton and Robert K. Oermann, was released in November 2020, but is a new addition to our collection. The oversized book contains rare photos and memorabilia from Parton's archives and highlights 175 of her songs' lyrics.

Parton provides personal stories, candid insights, and memories throughout the book, covering more than 60 years of her songwriting. Critics call it a 'landmark celebration of the remarkable life and career of a country music and pop culture legend.'
