The Dimmitt Lions Club, represented by Kay Gfeller, donated $2,500 to The Castro County Historical Museum. Leta Denniss accepted the donation on behalf of the museum, saying the donation from the Lions was “greatly appreciated” with repairs and improvements continuing at the museum. The museum, located at 404 W. Halsell, has several newly completed projects centering on the armed forces and people who served from Castro County. Work that began over two years ago to restore and improve the museum buildings and collections is underway, with the most recent improvements focused on the old prisoner of war barrack that houses the museum’s collection of military pictures, uniforms, and other war memorabilia.
