Nazareth FFA Homesite students advanced to qualify for the State competition after placing second against 11 teams and 38 students at Area. Team members include Dayson Schacher, champion individual; Harrison Meador, 4th; Payton Durbin, 10th; Max Snead and Maddie Leochner. The Naz Homesite team will be competing on April 28 at Tarleton State University on April 28. Other Naz FFA judging teams competing in state contests: Cotton and Horse/Texas Tech University on April 23; Farm Business Management and Forage/Sam Houston State University on April 29; and Vet science and Livestock/ Texas A&M on April 30. In all 21 Nazareth students will be competing in seven different state contests.

Four Nazareth FFA students, Brett Young, Landry Kelman, Mckenzy Corrales, and Isamar Juarez, earned their Texas Cattle Feeders Association cattle handling certification. They had to demonstrate how to give different types of shots, apply an implant in a bovine ear, take a test and go through a mock interview.
