Pink Ladies donate $17,600 to DFVD

It was the biggest year yet for the Pink Ladies and Dimmitt Fire Department at the Chili Cookoff and Golf Tournament, raising $17,600 to benefit the DFVD.

The Pink Ladies presented a check to the DFVD last Thursday evening.

“We raised $17,600 this year for the Dimmitt Fire Dept,” said Pink Lady Sha Ebling. “The Pink Ladies’and Dimmitt Volunteer Fire Dept would like to thank everyone for making this year the best yet! We could not do it without you.”

There were 22 golf teams and 15 chili cooks at the event held on Sept. 24 at Dimmitt Recreation & County Club.

The Chili Cookoff Head Cook results included firstplace winner Pam Gonzales of Amarillo; second, Kenny Ebling, Dimmitt; third, Angela Smith, Amarillo; fourth, Diana Cleavinger, Dimmitt; fifth, Jody Francis, Amarillo; sixth, Ann Widick, Dimmitt; seventh, Millie Bingham, Amarillo; eighth, Kellie Bradley, Victoria; and ninth, Martha Richardson, Dimmitt.

Winning the Salsa Contest was Raneta Ward, and the Bean Contest, Martha Richardson, both of Dimmitt.

The lucky recipient of the $1,000 raffle was Kevin Bunch of Hereford.

The DFVD golf tournament has some great competition. Results of that tourney: Championship Flight - 1. Terry Widick/Key Harrison, 58; 2. Codi Cleavinger/Phillip York, 61; and 3. Robert Nelson/ Chaun Gunstream, 61.
