Sheriff’s Office warns of scam

The Castro County Sheriff ’s Office recently received information from a citizen concerning call received about civil papers.
According to the report, the call came from a woman claiming to have civil papers for her husband and he should call back.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is a scam.
According to Sheriff Sal Rivera, citizens should not fall for this, noting that the Sheriff’s Office dispatch will not call a person concerning civil papers, and that a deputy will deliver papers in person and serve the civil process.
Rivera urges anyone receiving this type of call to report it immediately at 806647-3311.
