The challenges and demands for college students can be great, but especially so when one chooses to tackle starting a new business at the same time.

Dalia Villarreal from Hart is currently attending South Plains College and studying to be a respiratory therapist and is set to graduate in May 2023. Along with that field of study, she is taking online courses to get a medical assistant certification from Texas A&M. She has already attained her phlebotomy certification.

Villarreal graduated in Deer Park near Houston a year early and immediately began pursuing a medical career.

“I wanted to prove to people I could do more than what they expected me to do.”

In January, she and her parents, Raquel Villarreal and Jose Santos, moved to Hart.

While tackling a heavy college load of coursework, Villarreal started a new business – DREAMGLOW – and has a shop in the backyard of her home in Hart.

DREAMGLOW is all about having your best smile and whitest teeth, and Villareal says, “It is important to look good.”

According to Villareal, what inspired her was going to the dentist fairly often after she had her braces removed to have her teeth whitened. She said it was expensive to maintain white teeth and she wanted different options. She found the answer and decided to offer the same options to the public.

Starting a new business has been daunting, especially with attending college, getting word out about the new business and juggling a hectic schedule.

“It [starting a business] wasn’t what I expected and has been slow,” said Villarreal. “I thought it would be something different and very needed in Hart, but it is hard getting the word out.”

According to Villarreal, the whitening process isn’t difficult, using a hydrogen peroxide base applied three times during a one-hour session, and there is little to no sensitivity. With the right products and processes, people can get good results and a brighter smile.

“Depending on maintenance, the procedure is good for 2-to-6 months and less expensive than a dentist,” said Villarreal.

Villareal encourages area residents to check out her services and the advantages and packages her shop offers. DREAMGLOW is located at 105 Ave. E in Hart. Make an appointment by calling 281-743-2601.
