Castro County 4-H had two junior horse judging teams (3rd to 8th grade) compete at the Tri-State Fair. Team one (1st place) included Steeley Moore (2nd overall, 2nd in reasons), Zaybri Rivera, Trystan Crow and Hubb Paulson, and Team 2 (7th place) members Daleyza Garcia, Makenna Fabela, Nicole Birkenfeld and Hayse Moore.

The Nazareth vet science class attended Day 1 of the Dairy Honors Program this past week. They had the opportunity to learn about filtration of water to be reused multiple times day to clean or flush out barns, how to check for mastitis in milk, how a milking parlor operates, different jobs in a dairy and nutrition for dairy cattle. Dairy Honors is a program that is designed to educate and spark interest in young men and women who aspire to start a career in the dairy industry.
