As someone who has closely tracked the reports on Covid-19 and its cousins as they surface, I watched as the country wrestled and battled (and still does) with one another over face masks, vaccines, lockdowns, and the destruction of businesses and jobs in the wake of the pandemic. AND the ongoing need to instill fear in the citizens – all for power and control.

Having a medical background, I have been skeptical. I grow more skeptical each day as pharma and the government try to lockdown data and make what I consider adverse decisions for most people in this country.

I am not going to point specifically to one party to blame – they are both guilty of poor decisions in one arena or another. But both sides are continuing to politicize a virus and keep people afraid. Further, for either party to think government should make decisions about a person’s private health choices is not only unethical, but dangerous. This is not a one-size-all situation.

As they avoid talking about the adverse effects and deaths due to the virus, misinformation flows out of the federal agencies and media. Just keep the population afraid at all costs. It is ok to destroy jobs and businesses, disrupt education and families – says no one with a lick of sense. It is fine to drive up the spending in the name of a pandemic for years to come – it’s ok, the taxpayer will foot the bill happily while battling inflation and other costs that are skyrocketing (people love paying high prices and taxes – cough, cough).

The Merck Covid pill is about to come out. The cost is estimated at around $750. That’s about three times the cost of other drugs that are being successfully used in the early treatment of Covid that keep people out of the hospital and literally put them on the path to recovery in a few short days. But you may be denied these. They are too cost efficient and affordable. If pharma can’t make a big profit on a drug – they want it out of the mainstream. Affordable healthcare and being healthy is not good for profits.

The naysayers can shout from the rooftops – but the ones who used these low prices drugs who were saved - and recovered - are living proof that we already drugs that work. I know of numerous people who are living testimonies to that fact.

I am a person who believes medical choices belong to the individual without coercion or force to do otherwise. We should all decide for ourselves what is best and not shame or criticize others for a different choice.

For my part, I am not sold on the vaccine – it is not a cure if people are dying after taking it.

It is not research if they are they are deleting opposing views.

It is not data if the adverse reactions and death are being censored and not included.

It is not science if you are not allowed to question it.

If it is so safe, why can’t you sue a drug company for vaccine injury and death? And why is the government is shielding pharma from accountability – even stating these companies can’t be held responsible for intentional misinformation or illegal activities Why should we trust any pharma company – or the government?

But they don’t care - they just ramp up the fear rhetoric and ignore the people, and reliance on fear for public health messaging only further erodes trust in public health officials and scientists at a critical juncture.

The nation desperately needs a realistic strategy that breaks through the politically charged environment, with its threatening and at times hysterical rhetoric that has created opposition. Even if ethically or even Constitutionally warranted, fear-based tactics may be dismissed as just one more example of political manipulation that can carry a lot of risk.

We are lacking consistent, credible communication at all levels and met with censorship of anyone – scientists or doctors - with data that could be critical to the health and well-being of the nation.

Houston – we have a problem.
