Facebook debates are proving people just want others to agree with them or they fall back on “you hate us” excuses to manipulate the person they are engaging.

Be it politics, religion, or any other subject, this has become the manta if you won’t agree with some subject, “You hate us.”

I ran across a conversation that demonstrates exactly the point.

Person 1: We want to do “X”.

Person 2: You are free to do it.

Person 1: But you think it is wrong.

Person 2: Yes.

Person 1: Because you want to control us.

Person 2: No. You are free to do what you want.

Person 1: But you think “X” is wrong.

Person 2: Yes, but only because I want your ultimate good, which is the definition of love.

Person 1: But we want to do “X”.

Person 2: You are free to do it.

Person 1: But we want you to say that “X” is good.

Person 2: I can’t do that.

Person 1: Why do you hate us?

This is every conversation on morality and politics in the world now.

If I don’t agree with something, I am not going to agree with you just to make you happy. So don’t throw the “you hate us” nonsense out. It has nothing to do with hate at all. It does have to do with a difference of opinion and values.

You are free to do it (unless it is against the law). But don’t expect approval from everyone you run across. And don’t try to manipulate with false accusations of hate.

That’s my rant. And you don’t have to agree!
