Freedom is and has always been a risky concept. But it has its advantages, for without it, human progress is impaired.

Freedom allows those willing to take chances, to try things others fear to do, whether in business, sports or life in general. But it is fraught with unforeseen pitfalls and turns.

Those afraid to attempt new ideas for fear of bankruptcy, embarrassment, or injury will shrink from the challenge, but the brave will try, possibly fail, but learn from their mistakes, make corrections, and improve. This is the essence of real progress.

Freedom is dangerous to many of those in political or corporate power because they see it as a challenge to their authority. They value power over principle and seek to limit or destroy freedom, and the best tool against freedom is fear. That is how tyrants, dictators, bureaucrats, and oligarchs throughout history have gained and maintained their power. Fear forces compliance in the meek and the otherwise apathetic.

In 2020, the greatest infringement on our freedom since the founding of the United States was the exploitation Covid pandemic by our leaders. With the closing of non-essential businesses, schools, restaurants, bars, and churches, many God-given rights were sacrificed. With mandatory lock downs of otherwise healthy people, freedom of movement of limited and the freedom to practice religion. Mandated “social distancing” destroyed the right to associate with whom and when we wanted. Students’ education was altered. The elderly suffered and died alone without family by their sides.

Citizens surrendered their natural inclination for human contact, to hug and shake hands with friends and relatives and wore masks – even outdoors – giving up the pure joy of smiling or seeing a smile.

The elected officials who produced these tyrannical codes will come up with new ones in the future that even more ridiculous just to see how far they can push before people push back.

When any leader tells the citizens to wear masks in restaurants and only lift the mask up when they are putting food in their mouths, it is time to question the sanity of the leader. And leaders telling people to limit or cancel their holidays, stay home and not work, not go to school, etc., is a pure insult, especially when they weren’t willing to cancel their own or follow their own ridiculous rules.

And now the issue of the vaccine injuries and deaths, the source of Covid and its funding and the whole pharma coverup is being covered up.

Sadly, it seems that many whiny citizens in this country are begging for isolation and government prescribed solutions to be placed on everyone. It seems Americans are becoming the government’s children, toddlers even, and must be treated as such.

During the American Revolution, Patrick Henry was spoke for most patriots when he said, “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me Liberty or give me death.”

Does America have citizens who will fight for freedom? Or are they willing to submit to tyranny without a fight?

A true patriot is willing to sacrifice his own life and fortune for the benefit of the cause of freedom when most others are not willing to give up their comforts of life.

It would do well to remember the founders were willing to suffer for freedom… the freedom ALL Americans have enjoyed for more 200 years. Of those 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, nine died of wounds or hardships during the war. Five were captured and imprisoned, in each case with brutal treatment. Several lost wives, sons or entire families. One lost his 13 children. Two wives were brutally treated. All were, at one time or another, the victims of manhunts and driven from their homes. Twelve signers had their homes completely burned. Seventeen lost everything they owned. Yet not one defected or went back on his pledged word.

“These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.” Patrick Henry
