Bobcats defeat Mustangs, 14-6

The Dimmitt Bobcats won their game against the Olton Mustangs, 14-6 this past Friday. The Bobcats lost the first game to the Littlefield Wildcats last week, giving them a 1- 1 record thus far.

The Bobcats took the lead in the first quarter scoring on a

14-yard touchdown pass and two-point conversion. Olton answered with a touch down and failed two-point conversion, putting Dimmitt up 8-6.

Neither team scored in the second and third quarters.

Dimmitt scored a final touchdown in the fourth quar ter with a failed two-point conversion but claimed the victory over the Mustangs, 14-6.

The Bobcats had a total of 59 plays for 216 yards, 89 passing yards and 127 rushing yards, one interception, and one penalty for 5 yards.

Leading the Bobcats’ passing game Gabriel Ontiveros, with 10/18 completions, 89 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Ontiveros also had three kickoffs for a total of 137 yards and seven punts for 41 yards.

Top rushers for Dimmitt were Daunte Perez, 10 rushes for 98 yards; Gabriel Ontiveros, 20 rushes for 25 yards, one touchdown; and Gabriel Reyes, eight rushes for four yards.

Top Bobcats receiver was Daunte Perez, two receptions for 24 yards and one touchdown.

Top tacklers were Gabriel Ontiveros, four tackles; Damian Arriaga, four tackles; Joe Silva, four tackles; Gabriel Reyes, two tackles; and Gamaliel Vasquez, one tackle.
