Dimmitt Invitational draws 127 lifters

The Dimmitt Invitational Powerlifting Meet is in the books. Eight schools, including Dimmitt and Hart, participated with a total of 127 lifters competing.

The Dimmitt Bobbies came through with another team first place and the Dimmitt Bobcats were second as a team. Hart Ladyhorns team placed sixth and Hart Longhorns placed eighth.

Six Bobbies lifters won their weight classes including Nissa Sanchez (123 wt. class, Sandra Vasquez (132 wt. class), Jimena Fuentes (148 wt. class), Victoria Hernandez (181 wt. class), Kimberly Solis (198 wt. class), NaKhiyah Porras, (220 wt. class), Jesimae Gamez (259 wt. class), and Allyson Jones (259+ wt. class).

Earning a second place were Shaylagh H. Lugo (165 wt. class) and Gabrielle Loeza (181 wt. class); with third placings coming from Rosalinda Comparin (105 wt. class), Julia LaRue (114 wt. class), Karla Perez (132 wt. class), Alexia Tarango (165 wt. class), and Yadira Esqueda (220 wt. class).

The Hart Ladyhorns had four competitors at the meet. Priscilla Gagnard placed fourth (114 wt. class); Brizeth Soltero placed sixth (123 wt. class); Brianna Nally, third place (148 wt. class); and Toree Jo Evans scratched after two events.

The Dimmitt Bobcats has a good showing placing second as a team and with two first place earners and two second places.

Coming with top placings were Mickey Rios, first place (123 wt. class), and Gabriel Reyes, first place (wt. class 148). Second place earners were Diego Santellano (148 wt. class), and Ga Quorie Chatham (242 wt. class). Third place earners were Santiago Chavez (114 wt. class), and Lizandro Rocha (132 wt. class).

The Hart Longhorns placed eighth as team. Their top lifter was Draven Dominguez, seventh place (198 wt. class), Dominic Dominguez, eighth place (198 wt. class), Ely Hernandez, ninth place (198 wt. class), and Noah Marin, ninth place (wt. class 165).

The next meet on the schedule for Dimmitt powerlifters is Jan. 28 in Sundown.
