The Dimmitt Bobbies dropped a conference game to the Littlefield Lady Cats, 11-1.

“Dimmitt started strong in the first inning keeping the score 0 to 0,” said Coach Vicky Ruiz. “When we headed to the second ending, our third out we struggled with errors. We also struggled with our hitting with pop flies and easy infield ground balls.”

The first inning, neither team scored, but the Lady Cats bounced back with six runs, to take the lead 6-0.

The Bobbies came in with a run in the third inning, but Littlefield runners crossed home plate with three more runs, pushing their lead to 9-1. The fifth inning, the Lady Cats came in with two more runs, taking the win, 11-1.

Bobbies JC Sepeda took the pitching loss, allowing three hits and four walks, with a total of 41 balls and 49 strikes and three strikeouts.

Batting stats:

Jazlyn Rodriguez had one single and two stolen bases; JC Sepeda, one single and one stolen base; Maraya Corales, one single; Ariana Perez, one bunt single, one stolen base and one run; and Ashleigh Broom, one double and one RBI.

Fielding stats:

Jazlyn Rodriguez had one putout and one assist; Caitlyn Olmos, three putouts; JC Sepeda, three assists; Maraya Corrales, eight putouts; Ashley Macias, five assists; Ashleigh Broom; one put out; and Nina Vasquez, one putout.

Ashley Macias is selected as Player of the Game with a diving stop at second base, where she was able to make the assist to first base to get the batter out. Her defense was on point in the game.

The Bobbies are at 0-4 in district play.
