Castro County 4-H rifle competes at District 2

Castro County 4-H shooting sports members were among a large group competing at the District 2 Rifle Contest in Lubbock on Saturday.

Jack Wanjura placed fourth in juniors; Oren Welps, fifth in juniors; and Miles Nelson, 14th in intermediates.

The contest allowed 10 shots for 10 small targets on page at 50 feet.

The juniors shoot in the probe (lying down) position, and intermediates shoot in three positions - probe, standing and kneeling.
