The Dimmitt Bobbies came with a solid performance at the Levelland Powerlifting Meet this past Saturday, placing second out of 16 schools.

Sandra Vasquez, junior, placed first in the 132-weight class; and Na’khiyah Porras placed first in the 220-weight class.

Staying in the top of five of their weight divisions were Evelyn Salvador, junior, (97) fourth place; Nissa Sanchez, junior, (123) third place; Jimena Fuentes, junior, (132) fourth place; Yazmin Barron, junior, (198) second place; Kimberly Solis, (198) fifth place; and Ally Jones, junior, (259+) second place.

Girls Team Placings: 1. Plainview 2. Dimmitt 3. Lamesa 4. Brownfield 5. Sundown 6. Dumas 7. Seminole 8. Whiteface 9. Levelland 10. Lbbk Roosevelt 11. Frenship 12. Odessa 13. Hart 14. Friona 15. Kress 15. Denver City

Bobbies currently ranked in the top 10 in Region 1 are Yazmin Barron in fourth place, Na’khiyah Porras, fourth place, and Ally Jones, seventh place.

Hart Ladyhorns Johann Vasquez placed third in the 165-weight class and is ranked 16th in the Region.

The Dimmitt Bobcats placed fourth out of 17 teams.

Taking first place in the 220- weight class was Gerardo Gonzalez; with Sabian Martinez claiming a second place in the 165-weight division; and Martin Herandez, second in the 220 division. Hart lifter Omar Rodriguez won a second place in the 181-weight division.

Other DHS lifters staying in the top five, were Gabriel Reyes, (132) third; and Jesus

Lopez, (242) fifth place.

Top 10 Regional rankings for the Bobcats include Gabriel Reyes, fourth; Bruan Tarango, seventh; Sabien Martinez, 10th; Gerardo Gonzalez, seventh; and Martin Martinez, sixth. Hart’s Omar Rodriguez is ranked fourth in his division.
