'Doors are locked. Come back later.' That was the less-than-eloquent sign posted on our front doors here at Rhoads Memorial Library recently. High winds kept opening the doors a little at a time and we feared a gust might rip them off, hence the sign.

West Texas A&M University celebrated future additions to the ranks of regional educators at a special ceremony.Seventy-six students have been newly admitted into WT’s educator preparation program and were celebrated at a pinning ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 5 in Legacy Hall in the Jack B.

Castro County residents and all those living in the Texas Panhandle need to be prepared for continued dry and windy weather conditions.Forecasters with the U.S. National Weather Service out of Amarillo remain hopeful moisture could come to the panhandle next week.

Jadrian Herrera drove in five runs on three hits to lead Dimmitt Varsity Bobcats past Abernathy Varsity Antelopes 23-0 on Monday at Dimmitt. Herrera hit a home run to right field in the third scoring three, doubled in the first scoring two, and singled in the first scoring one.
