Farm safety week features webinars

National Farm Safety and Health Week will kick off a reminder for farmers, ranchers and agricultural professionals: “Don’t Learn Safety By Accident.”Because agriculture can be a dangerous job, the theme focuses on the importance of safety on farms and ranches, where risks are ever present.
The Nazareth FFA livestock judging teams kicked off the judging season by competing at the Texas Braunvieh Association contest at Clarendon College. Junior Division: Team Placing – 4th. Izzy Heck (2nd) and Gabby Heck; Intermediate Division - Team Placing -5th, Addie Birkenfeld; Senior Division: Team Placing -3rd, Harper Johnson, Pierce Wilhelm, Daniel Schacher; Emily Durbin; and Team Placing – 6th, Taryn Wethington, Autumn Birkenfeld, Alishia Osterkamp and Lexi Ramaekers.

Texas parents may control children’s social media

A new Texas law gives parents more power over a child’s actions on social media, as long as they are aware of the account.Parents of Texas children under 18 can monitor and restrict their child’s activity on digital platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

TTU fall enrollment exceeds 41,000

Texas Tech University announced a 12th-class-day enrollment number of 41,045, the first time in the university’s history it has eclipsed 41,000 students.
