State sales tax revenue $4B in July

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.99 billion in July, 0.1 percent more than in July 2023. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.

A federal appeals court ruled last Tuesday Texas can keep its floating barrier in the Rio Grande meant to slow illegal aliens from crossing into the state for the time being.Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement following the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
