The recent Terrific Tuesday saw a lot of fun activities at Rhoads Memorial Library. The featured book was The Good Egg, followed by making omelets in a bag, learning to make meringue from egg whites and making meringue cookies, making birdfeeders as a kindness activity. Twenty-three youth attended including those from 4-H. The program is led by Felice Acker, Castro County AgriLife Extension agent and runs until the end of July.

State sales tax revenue $3.9B in June

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.94 billion in June, 0.4 percent more than in June 2023. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

The Castro County Fair Board is busy preparing for the annual Harvest Days and County Fair.This year the event will be held on Aug. 24, with the theme “Small Town USA.”As always, there will be a lot to do and see.
